It was the day after the first Hatching. Lokin was the Junior Weyrwoman. She had two… TWO dragons. Both queens. She was still in a daze. She felt…. Odd. She had two other minds in her head, instead of one. The twins were close to her already. Dianath acted a bit like a child, though Athenath was almost… grown up like. Though it was obvious she’d still need to grow, her mind was like an adult, a very smart human adult. It was odd. And the gray eyes. They were human like, only… gray. And Dianath had a matching set of Green human eyes. And she was a rainbow of… well. Gold. She was flashy, making Athenath look drab! Which was odd to think of the brilliant Gold as drab. She was anything but.
Lokin found herself in a far corner of the Weyrling barracks. It was… soothing to have both of them sitting next to her, one on either side. Dianath was the larger, and on the outside, her tail wrapped around Lokin’s leg. Athina was on the inside, her gray eyes watching. They were resting for now. Sing to us Mine. Please. asked Athenath. Lokin sighed looking at the gold. ”Do I have to?” she asked softly. Yes please Mine! I would love to hear you sing! They say you have such a pretty voice! Please? came Dianath’s pleading voice. Lokin sighed and closed her eyes, letting her voice ring out.
'We flew together.
You and me.
Two bright shining stars.
Connected by love.
Your wings carried me high.
You showed me the world.
Your eyes reminded me of my human existance.
You were my dragon.
I let you down.
I didn't pay enough attention.
I forgot to look both ways.
Now your gone.
O Dragon Mine.
Will you ever forgive me?
Would you ever let me see you again?
Are you lost for ever?
Flame took you from the sky.
Right from under me.
I lost you to another, much bigger than thee.
Fire was your ending, and your life.
I some how survived that fatefull fall that day.
And still I wish you were here.
Green Dragon, mine.
I wish you where here.
Your final flight carried us high.
And brought us down, the saddest of all.
Now I am half.
But I must go on.'
The song was… Of Barkth, her lost Green. How could she dare think of this dragon with Athena and Diana at her side? But it didn’t matter, it still hurt. Both dragons moved to nuzzle her, murmuring that they were sorry. They hadn’t meant to make her cry. Suddenly a voice was heard above Lokin. ”My Jr. Weyrwoman, You have a marvelous voice.” It was D’mar. Lokin scrambled to her feet, though the two Dragons stayed relaxed, glaring at him. ”I’m sorry sir! I was just…” she could see him watching her. Sizing her up. She was a Weyrwoman. And quite possibly she’d end up THE weyrwoman, and his Galeth would have to catch one of Her Twins to stay weyrleader. ”It is no problem My dear.” Lokin felt uncomfortable, as his sharp blue eyes burned into her, he was to close for comfort. His hand moved to put an arm around her, Suddenly a knife was at his belly. ”Don’t even go there. I am not yours to claim before the Twins have even risen.” she hissed, all uncertainty and fear gone, in place was something fierce, and angry. Both dragons roared as they stood up, towering over the two of them.
