Lilly officially hated being pregnant. She was about six months into it, and she hated morning sickness. Which she’d just finished with. She hated getting up in the morning. She hated having to deal with everyone while she felt like crap! Why? A part of her knew it really wasn’t I’zon’s fault but that didn’t stop her from blaming him. She left the bathroom with a very annoyed sigh. She felt horrible. Beyond horrible. She closed her eyes as she leaned against the door frame. Mine. We should tell him. You can’t hid from him forever. And Jareth knows something is wrong. I won’t tell him about you. At your request. Please? came Mirrath’s voice in her head. ”Mirrath. Please. Don’t.” The dragon outside the door hummed softly as she reached her nose out to touch the small woman. She was showing, though it wasn’t huge yet. That was yet to come. She stepped out into the dragon weyr and just curled up next to her dragon. She felt like hell. Or worse. She didn’t exactly look it. Her hair was brushed, though a bit mussed. Her dress was, as always, flowing around her, and a light green, just like Mirrath.
Lilly was frustrated. She knew the child had been conceived when Mirrath had rose. And she knew the father… She just didn’t want to deal with him. Or anyone. She could do this on her own by the egg! She knew it. Or at least told herself that. Probably why she was curled up next to her dragon. Then suddenly she stood up. ”I’m going out… To the Hold. If anyone’s going to ask.” she said going back to her weyr and grabbing a coat before slipping out the door. She knew the back ways to the Hold and that’s where she went. From there she went to the Beastcraft hall. Wanting to be near something she’d known since she was a little girl, before her mother’s death. Runnerbeasts. She knew she probably should have gone looking for the Beastcraft master, but she didn’t want to as the sight of a gray runnerbeast caught her eye, and she moved to the stall. The horse lowered his head to touch her head, then hand, waffling softly. ”Hello big boy. You’re a sweety aren’t you?” she said softly, relaxing visably as she continued to pet him.

The young woman heard the man come in, but the runnerbeast had her full attention with wanting both hands to pet his neck and ears. When the man came up the runnerbeast pulled away, and she turned, and stopped for a second. She was fully distracted from speaking for a moment. Stupid hormones. She seriously was going to strangle I’zon later. She took a deep breath. ”Sorry. I just came down from the weyr… I needed to get away. I’m Lilliana. What’s the name of this big boy?” She asked, recovering quickly. She turned back to the runnerbeast. And his head came up to touch her shoulder, and she smiled a bit.
She smiled just a little at the runner beast and reached up to pet him. ”I grew up around Runnerbeasts. I didn’t mean to intrude.” she said softly. Her light eyes were a great deal more relaxed then when she’d come in. She found herself relaxing quite a bit around him, and of course she was still blaming her hormones for her desire to look at the man next to her out of the corner of her eye.

She nodded. ”Green rider. I ride Mirrath.” she said simply. And grinned at his words. ”Thank you Master Calian. They are wonderful.” She said softly. She turned to Kilp and patted him softly as she stayed close to the Stall door. Her baby chose that moment to kick but she ignored it, only lowering a hand to her belly for a second. ”He’s a sweetie. Reminds me of the first runner I rode. Only she was brown.” she said softly her eyes on the gray as he sniffed her hair, then bumped his head against Calian’s shoulder softly. He snorted, fully enjoying the attention.
She grinned fully at his words. ”He is a charmer. It’s sad that he’s hurt. I was hoping for an easy ride.” Mirrath chose that moment to take offence, and she had to deal with annoyed dragon. My love, let me have some fun. I don’t get nearly enough, plus this master Calian is wonderful. Please? the green gave her consent.

The green rider sighed. He was right. ”Point taken Master Calian. Point taken.” she said continuing to pet the runner. ”There’s more than one to think about. Thank you for reminding me.” her voice couldn’t exactly be called bitter, but it wasn’t happy either. Stupid I’zon. She continued to pet him, her hand in his main almost braiding it.
”It’s easy to forget yourself when around animals you grew up with as a young child.” she said simply with a sad smile. Her eyes were dark as she lifted her other hand to actually braid the stallion’s mane. ”You could breed him. It would probably be a trait his offspring would have.” she said thoughtfully.

She sighed. Stupid. Your being obvious. she snapped at herself. ”Not exactly pleased with the father. He’s a colleage nothing more really… And I wasn’t paying enough attention after Mirrath’s most resent rising.” she said simply. ”Nothing that anyone can help with.” she said simply her green eyes a tad sat, but she pushed it aside. ”Thanks… but I doubt that Mirrath would like sharing me any more than she’ll need to over the next while… But I’ll come down and see them. He’s a good beast. It would be good to have beasts that didn’t try to buck you off at every opportunity.” she said with a slight smile. She stepped back away from the gray. Kilp was beautiful to her mind. She looked at Calian fully. ”I didn’t mean to take you from your work… I should probably go.” She didn’t want to leave, but a Master couldn’t really stop for long. At least from what she could tell.

The greenrider nodded. ”I’ll think about it. Mirrath has a say after all.” she said simply. She grinned at his words bout Kilp. ”Oh yes, horribly Abandoned, and underfed at that.” she said with a giggle, reaching out to touch the runner again. He was a pretty one. She liked him. Maybe she’d get one of his foals. Just to have. That would be nice. Though Mirrath was technically safer. She grinned a bit. ”My dad always started by talking to them while he brushed and tacked him. My brother did to. Seemed to help a bit…” she said with a slight nod of her head. Not that she could help much. He was the master beast master here, not her. She was thankful for his words about staying. ”Sure I’ll stay with Kilp, though I have no doubt that someone will want to know where I am. We have only three candidates, but I’ve still got to keep up with them.” she said simply as she moved again closer to the runner.[/blockquote]
