Lokin was in the middle of a talk about what to do with Silver Wing, when a tug at her mind brought her head around. ”Z’law? We’ll have to continue this. I have… To go. Athenath’s Clutching, and impatient. She won’t start until I’m there.” a quick peck on his cheek brought a grin, as she turned and ran. Not great for someone who’s pregnant, but Athenath was impatient, and she didn’t want to see the small gold do something stupid.
The bigger gold grumbled as she moved with her sister to the sands. The place was huge. Big enough for many clutching dragons. She shoved her twin to the back, to the warmest spot, though it was dark. She growled at the smaller gold, her own rainbow hide glimmering slightly. Athenath! Quit it! I’m not going to HURT you, or your eggs! And your upsetting Lokin. Which isn’t good for her or her own baby. the dragon growled, getting another from her egg-heavy sister. Three months since the rise of Athenath, and now only a few weeks until her eggs hatched. She cooed as she caught site of her blond rider.
Dianath stepped back as her rider came up, breathing heavily, though a bit flushed. There was still no sign of the baby (beyond a need to eat weird things, sleep, and pee.) ”I’m here now Athenath. You don’t need to be such a brat.” the blond rider said softly, touching the gold, as she started to clutch. It was a private thing, but two hours later there were fifteen eggs on the sands. Beautiful and a bit wet. Athenath cooed softly over them, nuzzling each one carefully. To any who care, we have eggs on the sands. Farthest corner. Dianath called, her voice smooth. She spoke to the full weyr, not trying to call just to Sadrith (Whom Athenath was busy talking with), but everyone. She settled down, on the outskirts of the sands, watching her’s and her sister.
Sad? There’s fifteen of them. They are pretty. Like jewls. There’s much more here than the last one.

Why wouldn’t I want you here? came the practical reply from the tired gold. Dianath huffed at her silly sister, and turned her gaze on her rider, reaching out her tail and gently touching her head. You alright mine? the woman nodded, stepping away from the exhausted gold as her mate came towards them, but stopped. Dianath laughed, her voice both out loud and in their heads.
I wouldn’t eat you unless you gave me good reason. Which you haven’t. said the gold with a bit of a smile, her sharp teeth showing, and some green gum. Lokin moved much quicker away from Athenath, not really wanting to get between to rather large creatchers. Especially ones the size of golds and bronzes. Athenath may be a small gold, but she was still big. Athenath cooed over the eggs, her gray eyes showing happiness, at having her’s, her twin, and Sadrith there. She didn’t care so much for the rider, but her’s like him, so it didn’t matter. The bigger twin snorted as she moved father away from the clutching queen, and her movements of making the eggs look better, in a circle and set up correctly. Really sis? Do you have to do that? They are eggs, they don’t have to look pretty.
Athenath snorted. I will do as I wish Dianath, and you know it. I like harmony. that brought laughter to Lokin, making her giggle. She followed Dianath getting the look from Athenath that she’d rather be alone with Sad. Which she found cute. ”Stop teasing your twin. It only causes trouble.” Dianath snorted as they moved to the openinging. Up above were the weyrs. Where all the dragons would watch from when the clutch hatched. She lifted her head, watching as first, a green dragon, Mirrath, looked over the eldge of the closest weyr, then Carenath, from high up, and Tarith, and a few other’s, curious they were, though so far, only three dragons could get near Athenath on the sands. Dianath looked around her. It is a good thing that there is enough room here for many dragons. There are six of us who can clutch. And there will need to be room but I doubt Athenath will let anyone else clutch where she is now. It’s hers. Like Sad, like you, and me. she’d included V’ktor in that, as well as her sister, and sad, but she didn’t think her twin or her twins mate would reply.
Dianath’s green eyes seemed… sad. She watched around her, as drudges came up with lights, and set them around the gold and her bronze. Giving them light. Athenath was now sparkly, and the lights were set so they improved Sadrith’s odd coloring. Dianath hummed softly to herself. I don’t think I’ll rise. I’ll be the last queen to rise. The most junior, and yet… I’m not am I, Lokin mine? Because of Athenath, and my connection with her… I am equal to her. Someday that will come to a head. Someday. When she figures that out. Not that it matters. the dragon trumpeted, getting the rest of the weyr to anwer. Her way of greeting the soon to be hatched eggs, then she settled down, near the entrence, her rider staring at her as if she had no idea who’s dragon she was.

As one of the rare clutching Greens, when the news reached Jelmanth that Athenath had clutched, she had been excited. Come now, S'venMine . . . Athenath has clutched once more!!
the Green all but bugled as she swooped from the sky, actually grabbed her Rider from his conversation with another Wingrider, and carried him off to the Sands. "JELMANTH!!" the Rider shouted, enraged at the fact that his Green had just uplifted him from a very interesting conversation with a very handsome Bluerider. "Why are we in such a hurry? Athenath and her twin have spoken little to you and I have no connection with the Senior Weyrwoman save for the fact that she is the Wingleader of our Wing?" he shouted, simply giving up on struggling when they crossed over a lake. You are a wall flower . . . You speak very little to the Senior Weyrwoman and more to the Junior . . . I am simply a Green, far below the Twins, the Green mentioned as they landed just outside the Hatching Sands, S'ven all but being tossed out infront of the Green as she landed, so that she didn't land on top of him. Sweet Athenath . . . My Rider and I have come to pay our respects to your clutch, the Green boomed, a little too excited that there were eggs on the Sands. May we enter? she questioned, head slightly lowered, as if she expected the Gold to send her away. S'ven placed a hand on the Green's neck, soothing his little one. She could be so mothering and forget that there were other clutching dragons around that might not be as accepting to have a Green near their eggs.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Athenath turned her head towards the door, as first Sadrith then the green came. You may enter Jelmenth, and as for you V’ktor. Other’s can come onto the sands, even other clutches can, but they can not touch my eggs. the last part was fierce. Her gray eye’s flashed for a second, then she relaxed as Sadrith settled next to her. She nuzzled him softly before she continued to count her eggs. At least that’s what it looked like to her twin.
Dianath rumbled softly when With came up to her, she touched him softly with her tail before he went to the hights. She rumbled in slight annoyance, but stayed put. Her sister didn’t want her to leave. Or move. So she stayed put. Just out of the sands area. Watching her sister moving her eggs around. Sadrith easily complimented her twin. Of course they were pretty they were Athenaths.
Lokin smiled a little as V’ktor came up behind her, and wrapped his arms around her. She put her hands over his. ”I’m sure they are big enough for her to share. It’s beautiful. Apparently this was here before they started the Weyr. Natural Cave.” she said softly, leaning back. She smiled happily.
