A young woman, with dark brown hair, and even darker eyes moved in the feilds. She had a dog at her side, and two flits. One blue one silver. She moved carefully. The heir wasn't the only one out hunting. But for Tiaris it was more a reason to get outside. She'd gone to hunt wherrys. Anything.
The bow in her hand was a dark mahogany. And the arrows were whiteish. The feather's silver and blue. To match her flits. The red dog beside her move just like her. She was in leather, stuff that moved easily but could turn sharp sticks away. Of course it only covered up to her shoulders. Her arms were bare, showing her scars.
A noice warrned all four of the beings and Sparti disapeared for a moment, before coming back with a picture of a man on a runner. She nodded as she moved out where she could see. Jarvis whined, as if questioning the good idea. But then Barwin disapeared. She frowned, before she heard the growl. Jarvis turned, with a bark, and took a step back. She and Sparti turned around, and staired. Feline. She stood still, watching it. It was beautiful. dark tan, with spots. She'd heard their breed was called Cheetah, or at least they were a hybrid. But not quite. They were... felines here. She didn't think she could move fast enough. It growled at her, and staired at her.

The girl reached for Sparti's mind, before the silver could kill herself trying to protect Tia. The silver hissed from Tia's shoulder but didn't move. Dark eyed watched the cat start to prowl forward, and she lifted the bow. The cat stopped. It seemed to sence something wasn't right. It glared at her.
What was a feline doing out of season here? The Hold and Weyr hunted them to keep the population down, though they didn't kill them off. The girl tried to move slowly to get an arrow, but the feline hissed at her. She froze out of instinct. She had a feeling Darian would not be happy with what she'd done. Going out alone and all. Expecially as a Candidate. She did love her Harper Uncle, but sometimes... Well she was just glad he was not here.
Then an arrow sprouted from the back of the cat's neck, and it dropped. Her hand flew to the arrow, and knocked it, looking around her for the sorce of it. The dog yipped and moved forward.... slowly. It stopped just before it and growled, before nuzzling the body. Then Jarvis started to put his mouth on it. "Don't even think about it." she told him softly. The dog lifted his head, and looked around, sniffing. He pinpointed a particular smell and barked in that direction, but didn't move from Tia's side. he was trained not to after all. "Hello?"

The tall woman managed to stopp herself from staring to long. The man was hansom. Sexy even. His red hair and blue eyes making him striking. And of course the big Runner was wonderful. She liked runners. She took a step back, lowering the bow, and unknocking it, before slipping the arrow back in place.
"Fine. Beyond being startled, just fine." she said, her dark eyes following him. Who the hell was he? Beyond rebel. He gave off that aura of i'm a bad boy, and what girl didn't like a bad boy? Obviously she didn't know who he was. "Jarvis. Heel." the red dog quickly went to her side, staying away from the cat, and of course, the new human, who he didn't even growl at. She eyed her dog with some worry. Usually he barked at a newcomer. Even for a minute, but here he was calm.
She didn't let that bother her as he spoke again. "Wasn't told, or didn't hear. Not unusual for me. And i was hunting, though nothing that dangerous. Wherry's. Jarvis, Sparti and I usually can deal with anything that comes our way. Apparently not. Thank you." the woman said with a nod, her gaze a bit guarded. Sure she liked his looks, but he could be a jerk, or an ass, or worse.

His bow made her worry, though it didn't show. Pretty? So he had to start with flattery. She watched him carefully after that, her eyes only leaving him when the gold came into view. Sparti hissed at her, more in supprise, then she relaxed, wrapping her tail around hers. Her blue returned with a pop and settled on her other shoulder, getting a half-hearted growl from his friend. Which he ignored. He watched the new queen with some interest.
"Can't get away that often. Life is busy in the Weyr." she wondered who he was. Of course she was down here. She didn't feel like touching the eggs, or helping with the sands. There were plenty to do with out her. She just got in the way anyways. Her dark brown eyes showed the sorrow for half a second, then it was gone.
She nodded to the gold. "It's nice to know that flits like me."
she kept the scorn out of her voice, though she felt it. She reached up to touch Sparti, her friend since she was a little girl. The silver watched the gold with some annoyance. The blue jsut eyed the knew queen with some trepidation then ignored her fully as Tia's hair flipped him backwards with the wind. "I'd ask what you were doing here, but it's kind of obvious. You belong to the hold then?" she asked softly.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

The silver flit turned her attention to the blue now on Jarvis' back, though he was not digging in. She jumped off Tia's shoulder and started a game of tag with the blue. Going from annoying to friendly, in two seconds. Which was normal for the silver, and her mistress. But tia had reasons, and Sparti had been around when the last boy had had his way, so in her opinion there were no males good enough, beyond her's twin, Tymis.
The tall woman nodded. "We're the same there. I try to stay away from the Weyr as much as possible." she said with a slight smile, but it faded fast as she looked over the cat. It was pretty, but not worth anything for her. Though underneither her cold exterior she was slightly shaken. She had not expected to meet a cat on her hunt, and she had no doubt that Jarvis was just as rattled. The dog moved towards the cat, as it was lifted and growled at it, before sniffing at Minak's feet, and then turning to stand next to her, his mouth open in a doggy smile, with the toung out. His dark brown eyes looked up at her, and she sighed, reaching down and petting him, as he leaned against her. He was a hunting dog, but he was playful. And joyous.
She nodded, rather amused by his formal words. "It's all right. After all, if i had payed attention at breakfast, maybe I wouldn't have come down here. It's my fault really." she said simply her dark eyes a little less hostile. She was comforted by Jarvis, her one companion who didn't make judgments on her, as long as she fed him, and pet him he was fine with what ever she did. "I hope I wasn't a distraction. I have never personall hunted Felines, but i've heard it's a great deal more dangerous than hunting wherries." she said simply, relaxing more, as she focased half on the dog.

Tia nodded. He was right. She'd caught the cats attention, but she doubted he was tranced. "Interested, not tranced." she said simply, shrugging slightly. She felt a bit out of her depth. Then again, any kind of relation with a boy that wasn't her twin or siblings, or father left her feeling that way. Since she was fourteen.
Something about the way he said it made her think he hunted them more than he aught to. "I know that they are dangerous. I grew up on the western coast. We have them there to, but usually my dad, and uncle Derien, and my older brothers would go hunting. I would have to stay home.' she said with a slight shrug. "They are pretty. Even if they are dangerous."
The woman laughed. "Sparti, is a girl, and if you tell her anything different she'll chew you out. And yeah. They are rare. I got her, and my brother got a bronzer. Quite pretty actually." she said with a grin at the two as they streaked past them. Silver chasing blue.
She nodded. "There's... A clutch coming. Um... Silver Rider Z'law's gold Feris rose resently. A silver caught her, don't know which one. It was a fantastic flight though. My boy didn't fly, but I watched it. So i'm sure there's a clutch. I'll be sure to get an egg for you." essentially Tiaris was a nice person, she was... just scared.

She smiled. That was cute. "Sounds like me and my brother attempting to train a Wherry. Wild one. Both of us ended up with bloody hands and a scolding from mother. Though we can't deny that it was fun, or that we'd have done anything differenly." she said softly, Jarvis moving away from her towards the man and his runner.
Jarvis crept closer to the runner, sniffing, but stopped just out of range. his tail wagging as he watched the black beast with interest. She eyed her dog, though didn't say anything. The tall woman nodded at his words. "Sparti only acts like she hates Bwi. She really does care for him. It's good to have more than one Flit. It's like a mini-weyr." she said with a slight chuckle, relaying words from her own father.
Then he had to mention being a candidate. She looked down, and to her right, watching the tree line. "Athenath did lay her eggs. And yes. I"m a candidate. Though I'd perfer to be just Weyrfolk, or back at the cothold." she tried to hold back the worry and frustraition, but Sparti's reaction of returning and landing on Tia's shoulder, then rubbing her head against Tia, along with cooing worridly showed that there was more to the story.

The tall woman watched her canine carefully. And the dog reacted to the runner as if it was just something else to sniff. He waited for the ears to come up, but then the runner was fair game. he trotted up, sniffed the runner's nose, and then continued sniffing around it, even towards the back where he stepped lightly, and ready to move if the runner decided to kick.
She felt worried when he reacted with what some would call outrage. "I did. My father was a rider. I really did want to be a rider... but now? I don't think I can be." she didn't add that she wasn't even sure that she was properly searched. She didn't want to disappoint her parents, especially her father, but she knew instinctively that Tymis was the rider. Her? She'd lost that confidence six months ago.

She sighed. This wasn't going to be easy to explain. "Ever felt that you don't quite fit? Say your a key that seems to fit, and you turn the lock, but you aren't the right key? That's what it feels like for me to be a candidate. I turn the lock, but sometimes I stick, and it takes effort to unlock me from what ever I got stuck on." she said her hands hiding behind her back, her head dropped, and her gaze on the ground.
"My twin will be a rider, but I won't. It's... not something I can explain, i just know it." she said softly, forcing her emotions back, making the words sound hollow. She looked up as he spoke again. "Unless you can tell Athenath that she'd better have a dragon for me, I doubt it."

Tia shrugged. "You can't always win. I'm staying one last Hatching, then i'm going home. Papa won't like it, but I'm not going to sit there until i'm twenty four. There's a lot to do for me to do, and way to much to see to be stuck here at the Weyr." she said a slight smile crossing her face. There was her wild spirit. She'd never wanted to sit still to long. She wasn't a Weyrfolk, she wasn't Holderkin. At least she didn't like the idea of having to sit and sew all day or something else that was no fun. She could do it, but being a pirate would be fun, or a sailor, or a dophiner. There were so many things she could do! Why sit and wait for a dragon she'll never get?
She glanced at Raider, then at her Dog, who huffed and came back over to her. "There's no point in me hanging around here. If there where any wherry's they were scared away by the feline. I'll walk back with you." she thought about his words. His mother and father told him he had obligations, and he was holderkin. She was quick, and caught on. "Your the Heir aren't you? Never thought I'd meet you." her deminor didn't change. It wasn't the title, it was the person who counted.

She giggled slightly at his words. "Mika it is then. I'm Tiaris, but everyone calls me Tia. My dad is a cot holder on the western shore, he was a rider, but he lost his brown to thread. I and my Twin have all his and the rest of my family's hopes pinned on us. I've got... what... two younger siblings, and four older. And my grandma, and Uncle Darian, who's a Harper, but he got stuck with my aunt." she said easily, treating him as normal. The name didn't matter to her. Her father had drilled into his entire brood that it was the person who was important not the title.
She felt Sparti land on her shoulder, the one away from the 'nasty' male, as the silver broadcasted. Arrogant much. The image she sent got a tap on the nose from Tia. "Sparti, be nice." the blue himself came back and twittered at her, then went to investigate the male, and landed on his shoulder, chirpping at him. "That's Bwi. Not his full name, but I was in an odd mood when i named him, and i decided that Bwi was the safest nickname." she said with a smile as she watched her blue flit. Sparti was on her best behavior now and flitted off her shoulder, did a sumersault before landing on the man's other shoulder, sniffing him, before she lifted off and went back to Her's. The silver chirpped at the dog, who gave a doggy grin before trotting off in front of them.

Tia snorted. "She's being a brat. usually she's not this bad. I swear." she said glancing at the silver, who looked proud to be this bratty. The emotions from the silver were very much happy to be claiming hers and making sure the other gold didn't. Tia reminded her mentally that Sparti had, had Tia since she was four and there was nothing that would change that. Sparti relaxed almost instantly, her eyes closing.
She glanced at him as he spoke and laughed softly. "Weather she agrees or not, it' not her choice who I am friends with. But essentially. Expecially if she didn't bite you." she said with a smirk. The silver warbled at that, her eyes opening again.
She glanced at the runner behind them, watching his movements. This was a stalkier beast. Less runner more beauty and muscle. She personally liked it. Though she'd always seen the lighter runner's, and of course her aunt had always dealt with the more... elegant ones, and Derien. She wondered what her sisters would say if the found out that she'd met the Hold Heir and had treated him like a friend? Probably squeal, as how old he is, and if they could meet him. That would be amusing. It was good to make friends in high places... Even she knew that.
She watched the gold, and her jealousy. That was cute. Made her giggle slightly, and Sparti just watched. Already she was returning to her more relaxed self. And of course Bwi had curled up on Mika's shoulder and was napping. She rolled her eyes at the little blue. He was a pretty thing that was certain.
She nodded, eyes going a bit darker. "It's home. I'd have to... Ma and Papa would want to know what i was planning to do next, and Derien would want to know about the Weyrwoman, and yeah. I'd go home. Maybe I'd go else where, but I'm not sure." she said truthfully. Sure she had big dreams, but she had no doubt her siblings would try to keep her at home, helping with the nets and hunting, like when she was little. Keep her safe, at least that's what they would think. Sure there were babies in the family (They were 16, and twins), but she was the girl who managed to always find trouble, and now she was away from home. Her papa might let her go, but ma? Doubtful. "I have duty's to them to you know. Your not the only one who has to deal with expectation. Mines just... Less important. If I don't Impress, Ma, or someone will start looking for someone for me to marry. And then I'll be expected to raise a family. Which while isn't leading a Hold, is still important." her voice wasn't bitter, it was more sad, because she knew that that was more likely her path. Oh she'd try for the wild life, but she doubted if she'd get far.

She glanced at him as he slowed, and nodded a bit. She was understanding. "My parents were in the prosses of finding me a husband anyways. My grandmother believes that unless a rider or something important like a Harper, you should be settled down making a family. And a big one if possible. She rules the roost, even my father listens to her. So now even my little sister, is now getting a search for a husband. It's just old thinking, and no one says no to Nana." she said simply.
"It's not harsh, it's life. We may be well populated, but Darkened is still a small hold and weyr. ANd we've barely populated the out laying areas. It's logical, at least here." she decided to not make a jab about him being Hold Heir so at least he'd have SOME choice. Even a little. Though if everything she'd heard about him was correct, he wasn't going to settle any time soon. Good thing the Lord and Lady Holder were in such good health.
Occ// Had to mentally make that jab... xD

She chuckled. "Yep. Nineteen, and even now ma and grandmother still ask me why there's not little ones. Sometimes I think they just want grandchildren, and great grandchildren." she said with a slight laugh. "Though it may just bee my sisters who egg them on. They don't like it that i don't act like a normal girl." she said as she noticed the bow,and other things. Like the other girls. What did THEY want?
Her eyes drifted over the crouds. It was.... amusing. "Your welcome. it was a great deal more... fun for me, and it got me out of doing chorse up there." she said with a grin as she pointed up, though you could SEE where the weyr was. The weyrbowl, and the hold were on the same level. Hold was about six levels up, and then you hit the weyr, which technically went up eight.
