D'mon was outside by the lake, bathing Oth for what seamed like the hundreth time today. Oth was finicy about everything...but being imaculatly clean toped even his picky eating. D'mon had been watching Shira' who had been sitting on a rock with Kassie. The little gold flit started to chitter something but the silver hissed and swatted the gold's head away. Jade jumped in between the two before Shira could really tear into Kassie.
D'mon felt what was happening in his little friends strongly. Hurt for Kassie...and Rising lust from Shira. D'mon began to quickly wade towards the shore, Oth swimming along behind him. "Jade, Take Kassie and Ranon away to our Weyr and keep them there. It's not safe right now." Jade nodded quickly, taking the young queen and the brown in her talons and popping between.
As soon as the other Queen left, Shira let out a piercing shreik and dove into the water, coming up with a large fish. She blooded it greedily and tossed it's body back into the water. 5 more followed the first before the now pulsing Queen let out a cry and threw herself skywards. She called to all the males, challenging them to test their worth to take her.

Z'law had been working with one of the weeker empaths when Poet screamed at him, and poped out of the building. He told the girl to get going, and the HAD turned his attention to his flit. Feris kept by him, refusing to be alone.
Bronze Poet Betweened out over the water, and dived into it, grabbing fish, blooding, coming up for air, and going down again. Five times, before he burst out of the water, the small droplets making his dark bronze skin even darker. It sparkled now as he focased on the silver flit before him. He cooed to her, singing a love song to the beautiful queen. He wanted her, he wanted to claim the beautiful flit as his own.
He continued to climb as he sang. Below Z'law was amused by his flit's desire. Oh he could feel it, and if need be, he could state it, but he didn't think he'd need to. Poet was young, Feris' son, and would do well in this flight. Even if he didn't win, he'd still be a good Flit in Z'law's eyes.

Sitting, knife in hand and a bucket of cut meat at his feet, Shanruk sat with his back against a wall. His lifemate, Red Simath, was curled up at his feet, napping in the heat of the day, while red Clip relaxed between the young Red's head. It was amazing that the two Red's had bonded so well, but it seemed like the two of them wouldn't be separating for awhile.
That is, until Clip jerked his head up, startling Simath. Within a moment, Clip went between, leaving behind a startled Simath. Where is Clip going? Shanruk heard, before glancing over to the young Red, pausing in his meat cutting.
"From the feel of it, a firelizard queen has begun her Rise . . . He goes to try and Fly her," Shanruk explained, knowing that Simath wouldn't get it, but it wasn't something he was going more in depth with . . . at least not for several more Turns. Luckily, Simath didn't question more, simply lowered his head and went back to sleep.
Now at the lake, Clip came from between and let out a rather loud bugle. Shortly after he arrived, bronze Sho arrived, challenging the red to the right to fly the Queen. Both lizards went to blood fish, coming up once at opposite ends of the same fish, at which point it took a warning hiss from the approaching Green Garnath to stop the two from fighting amongst themselves. It didn't take the two firelizards much time to blood fish and join the Rising gold in the sky. Before long, they were singing to the gold/

Shira crooned to the bronze that showed himself in the sky. She dipped down to run a claw along his spine before flitting agilly away. She swirled and spun, her huge silver body shining in the sun as she danced for the bronze.
Shira whistled to the red as he showed himself, but she brushed him off. She was so large...and he...so small... She would let him dance for her, but she would not select him...so she was going to dance for the bronze and have the bronze dance for her.
She flitted about the bronze, brushing her wingtips with his, crooning, encourageing him to show off. She dove down to skim the water, humming a little song to herself, flitting by the watching D'mon. The would be one winner, but he was going to have to work for her.

Z'law's bronze warbled, ignoring the red. He was weaker. Poet could out fly that red. When she touched him he continued to sing. He dived into the water before splashing out of it, spurting water out of his mouth, as he rose above her, showering her with water. He warbled softly, singing to her. He dived next to her, matching her wingbeats. he would win. He could win! This was HIS time to shine!

Shira warbled as the bronze dove into the water. What was he doing? He momentary squeek of fear was cut off when he exited the water, water-drops glittering on his shiny bronze hide. Shira cooed when he showered her with water and flipped happily before beginning to climb.
She flew up and up and up and when she deemed she was high enough, she stopped, hovering. She called to the bronze, her eyes red with lust. It had not been a long flight, but Shira knew that the brave bronze that had come to dance for her was the right choice. So the silver waited for the male to take her, calling her lusty joy out across the water.
(sorry to end it so suddenly, but with no other possible suitors, there was no point dragging it on. Congrats Poet!)

Poet rose after her, His wings carried him up to her. He sang to her as he claimed his prize, humming softly. He hoped she liked him. No she did. She'd won against the red! He cooed softly as he joined with her. (and done. YAY. )
