Lilliana
A short but beautiful woman, with dark brown hair, that fell down her back, and blue eyes, held the hand of a small boy. Just bairly walking, but strongly, with the same blue eyes and dark brown hair. He had a charming smile. The pair moved into the Weyrling Barracks, to the main room. Lilly picked up her son as he started to reach for her. She was busy now, with eggs on the sands and candidates to prep, but she needed to sort out her love life before it got out of hand. She seriously did.
And she'd made her choice. I'zon was... easier. She loved Calian, but... he couldn't really share her life... and even with Mirrath it was to far a commute for the small woman, especially with a son, and unlike most Male rider's he was interested in his son. Interested in what his son did. That did help her decision. She had to do what was right for her kid, even if it wasn't right for her. Or maybe it was. But she'd made her choice, and she couldn't turn back now, and she'd never tell I'zon how her decision had been for Lilion.
She took a breath and went to the office, knocking at the door. "I'zon? Can we come in? I need to talk to you."

Sitting at the desk in the Weyrling Barracks, I'zon was leaning back, feet propped up on the wood, leaning back. His head was leaning back, hair flipped back, shaggy ends no longer in his eyes. He needed to cut the strands from his eyes, the ends were starting to annoy him, but his hair wasn't long enough to tie back yet. Sighing, he cupped the back of his head with his fingers and closed his eyes.
It were theses down moments that the Weyrling Master wished he could have his son curled up on his chest, where both could nap together. Instead, he settled for a wild firelizard that had been hanging around the barracks. He wasn't sure where the little brown had come from, but the thing seemed to enjoy curling up with him and Jareth wasn't offended. Sighing, he nearly fell over when he heard a voice break the silence.
Of course, as the voice broke the silence, the little brown chittered in unhappiness and went between before he could stop him. Shaking his head, he pulled his feet off the wood and sat up, finding Lilly standing at the door, Lilion in her arms. He was up in a matter of seconds, moving to the door and waving her inside. "Lilliana,"
he stated, unsure as to why the Candidate Master was in his office with their son. "Is everything ok? Please come in, sit down," he offered the chair he had just basically leapt out of. It was confusing as to why the mother of his son was doing here, but he was happy that she was here and with Lilion. With the seat offered, he turned his back on the desk and leaned his rump against the desk, crossing his arms over his chest.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Lilly waited for the door to open, grabbing her son's hand before it went up her nose, which was when I'zon opened his door. She shook her head at Lilion, who only giggled at his mother, then smiled at his father. She sat down with a nod, letting the boy get down, who did, then went under her chair, and growled. he sounded like a very bad interpretation of a dragon, or maybe a dog. She wasn't sure.
Lilly was about to say something, as she watched I'zon, but the little boy decided to tug at her dress, giggling and growling. "Lilion. Please. Just for a moment." she said reaching down and tapping his hands, which made him stop and look at them, his blue eyes big and wide. he then started to stick his hands in his mouth, though Lilly didn't stop him. What was the point? He'd just do it again.
"I... I've treated you badly... since... well before Lilion's birth..." she wasn't sure how to continue. How to say she'd chosen him. And not make him think she'd done it out of duty. Had she? She was so confused at that point. It showed in her eyes. She didn't know if she did love him, or if she didn't. "I'm sorry... Will you forgive me?" she asked him softly, her eyes dropping from his to the floor, feeling small.

The scene that unrolled before his eyes could only be something that rolled out of I'zon's dreams. As Lilly sat down in the chair he offered, she put their son on the ground and the little boy slipped under his chair and started growling. It would have brought laughter to his throat, if it wasn't for the fact that his son was tugging at Lilly's dress and growling and giggling. Still, that would have brought laughter to his eyes and throat, if not for the tone that Lilly used to get their son to behave. She didn't even stop the young boy from putting his hands in his mouth. Something was either very wrong, or she was about to say something that would affect him greatly.
Now wasn't the time.
He wasn't interested in hearing something that could be considered bad news. There were Weyrlings that needed his attention and Lilly seemed to have had no time for him in the past, why should it have changed. Yet, no matter how much the Weyrling Master wanted to lash out at the woman before him, he simply stood there, arms crossed over his massive chest and stared down at her.
At least until she spoke again, and then he was stepping toward her and placing his hand upon her shoulder. He didn't understand, but he didn't like the confused look in her eyes as she asked if he would forgive her. "Lilly,"
he whispered, kneeling before her and using his free hand, he placed it under her chin and tried to lift her gaze to meet his. "You don't have to ask for my forgiveness. It is yours. . . . Our . . . mating wasn't meant to be, but you have allowed me to stay in Lilion's life and that is enough for me," he stated, lying through his teeth. It would never be enough, but he would suck it up and keep his inner thoughts to himself. "What has brought this on, Lilly? You aren't one to come seeking forgiveness," he stated, not meaning it as an insult. His Candidate Master was a strong woman, not one to need forgiveness or acceptance. He glanced to Lilion and motioned for the boy to leave his mother be. "You know you can talk to me, dear one," he stated, forgetting to keep himself in check. Instead of trying to apologize for his slip up, he simply waved it off, silently asking her to forget it.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Lilly looked away as he looked at her, his formidable stare She felt like a little girl, which she did not like. She looked up as he came close. She actually glared at him. "Don't lie I'zon. You don't do it well." her voice was a mixture of anger and fear, and amusement. She felt a relaxed Mirrath as the green reached out to Jareth, in her own way asking for comfort. She cooed to him softly, as she stuck her head out of her weyr, looking for him.
She looked away as he spoke again, her eyes stopping on her son, who was now crawling towards them, like a cat, going to tackle his father's leg. She gave him a stern stare, and he growled at her, and then at his father, who also seemed to want him to stop. he sat down frowning. Lilly could see he was about to cry, and even if I'zon did need an answer. She slipped past him and picked up Ion, who's face stopped looking as if it was going to cry. "Ion, no. No crying." she murmured to him. He nodded solumly, and looked around her head to his father, as if asking if that was the right thing to do.
Lilly turned around, keeping her arms around Lilion, She needed that comfort. She didn't know why this was so hard, but it was. "I have to make a choice, I'zon. For Ion's sake. And mine. I can't keep floating between you two..." she wasn't explaining herself well. It frustrated her and Ion noticed this, and started to bury his face in her hair. She sighed, closing her eyes. What is really hard to say three words? Apparently. She was tense and again Ion tried to make her calm down, not that it worked. "I... I need you I'zon. I thinkI love you." there see not that bad. But she kept her eyes closed, expecting anger. She'd been stringing him and Calian along, really because she didn't know who to chose... now she had to make that choice.

When Mirrath reached out to him, it wasn't long before Jareth ended up at the Green's weyr, crooning and nuzzling his mate. He rumbled at the Green, curling up on the weyr, blocking any other from joining them, while giving her the option of relaxing half in and half out of the weyr. He purred to the Green, while flaring out his wings to cast a shadow over the area, offering her shade.
Hearing Lilly catch him in a lie wasn't easy to shallow, but what did he expect? He was an older man that had his heart set on one woman who was to stubborn to chose who she loved? Or maybe she was just scared? His attention was torn to their son, noticing that the little one was stalking him like a cat and growling at both himself and Lilly. "Lilion," he stated, shaking his head as Lilly moved around him and scoped up the scolded boy, stopping his upcoming tears. He sighed and stood, rising to his full height and reaching out to pat the young boy on his head, rubbing slightly, as if to calm the boy.
Then Lilly said the one thing that he had been dreading since he had found out that Lilly was also interested in another, Calian or something like that. I'zon had paid the guy little attention up until then, but after Lilly seemed to be spending more time in his company, I'zon had checked into the guy, for Lilion's sake . . . and maybe Lilly's. Either way, he had come up with nothing wrong. The guy seemed nice enough, no one was out for his blood, and he worked hard for what he had. Overall, he was a good man . . . and that scared him more than anything. He could offer Lilly and Lilion something I'zon couldn't; life long commitment. To I'zon, his position as Weyrling Master was his life. Even his older daughter, Vivi, had known that and took great pride in the respect he had earned over the Turns. "Lilly," he started, but stopped when she spoke again.
I . . . I need you I'zon. I think I love you," he heard.
"What?" he asked, which had to be the most stupid thing that ever passed his lips. He lifted his hands to his ears and used one finger to clean out one ear at a time. "I do think I'm coming down with something. I could have sworn you said . . . you love me,"
he stated. It was the best thing that could have ever been said to him, and he couldn't believe it. . . . . . . . But believe it he did. The first thing he did was move forward and wrap both his son and Lilly in a huge bear hug, but he quickly pulled away, still not sure about how he was suppose to act around Lilly. She was so complicated. "You and Lilion have become my world, second to Vivi," he stated, hating to admit it, but he spoke with honest words. "You will always have my heart, as your Mirrath always flys with Jareth's heart," he stated, moving close, hearing his Brown's rumbling agreeing.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Lilly watched him carefully. Of course when he spoke her name she looked up. What was he thinking? She couldn't really understand him fully, but dammit she'd do her best. Then he reacted as if it was a joke. She pulled away, anger flashing in her eyes, but she cut it off quickly. "This isn't a joke I'zon. And if you think it is so, then I'll leave right now." she snapped, anger flaring again before she could stop it. Ion went quiet, looking between the two, blue eyes curious, and unsure. She touched her sons hair, comforting herself.
His words didn't fully settle her. She knew that Vivion should and would come first, but it irked her that at least for a moment he couldn't pretend to care about her and her alone. Of course not. And the last part, of course Jareth's heart flew with Mirrath's, but that didn't say I'zon loved her. Three words weren't that hard to say. Her unsurety at the fact that she might have chosen wrong showed in her face as she looked down at Lilion. The little boy had his head on her shoulder, and was sucking on his hands, drooling on her green dress. She'd made her choice, she was going to have to live with it either way. She was an adult after all.
Jareth the green cooed to her mate, though she was worried about hers. She moved so she was more in the sun, and out of the shade that Jareth made. She wanted sun, not shade. She liked the sun, even if her's didn't enjoy the fact that it made her need to be oiled more.

The anger in Lilly's eyes snapped I'zon like she had hit him. He straightened his back and shook his head. He slowly reached out with one hand, beckoning her into his waiting embrace. "I have been struggling with my own heart, Lilly. You were thrust into my life after I thought I had closed off my heart to everyone. You opened my eyes to emotions I couldn't understand . . . and then Lilion joined us,"
he stated, looking at his son. His eyes misted, but he clamped stone teeth on the tears, refusing to let them fall. Slowly, he stepped toward them, whether Lilly wanted him close or not. "I would have walked along behind you had you chosen another," he stated, though his eyes held no malice but there was pain and love in his eyes. "I would have done everything in my power to give both you and Ion a good life, even if there was another male in your heart," he whispered, reaching out and placing his hand on the back of Lilly's neck. "But I wouldn't have liked it. . . . . You are not the only one who needs, for I need you too . . . . . However, my heart has been closed off to love for so long I can honestly say I wouldn't know what it is anymore. What I have to offer you is a life of no questions. My dragon would never rise after another, nor would I share . . . " he had to stop. Realized he had strayed from topic and Ion was still in the room, though he may or may not understand what his father was telling his mother. He leaned his forehead against Lilly's, free hand coming up to rest on Ion's head. "You have me, Lilly . . . You have all of me . . . And as soon as my heart remembers what true love is, you will have that too," he stated, tears spilling from the corners of his eyes though he tried to fight them.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Lilly was being lulled into agreement. Until he told her he wouldn't share. Her blue eyes hardened. "You won't share? Why not? If Mirrath choses another your going to HAVE to share!" She stepped out of his arms, and reach. That she couldn't have. She was not something he could claim! She was no prize! She was not an object to be adored! She didn't know why she reacted so angrily to that phrase, but she did.
Lilly gave him a dark look. "You have no choice in weather you can share me or not. And I'm not going to wait for you to decide that you love me. I don't have that kind of patients, and neither does my son. I take back what I said. I don't need you. I was right. Men are idiots." her voice was angry, and Ion looked up at her, scared, and starting to cry. That got her attention, and she looked down, her face softening as she comforted her son. "Shhhh Ion. Sh. It's ok. Mommy's just upset. It's ok." she whispered to him. "Be thankful you got this chance I'zon. But I'm not going to deal with you if you think of me as a Prize, something that shouldn't be shared. Or loved. You can deal with our son, but don't expect me to care what you think or do." with that Lilly turned and walked out, taking her son with her, anger making her tremble.
Mirrath sighed, lowering her head in defeat. Ah Jareth. It was nice to see you again. Don't get to lonely. There are other greens, other colors. You deserve more. I am sorry, Jareth. It seems I must follow my Rider. she said as she gave him one lasting nuzzle before she flitted out of her weyr and down into the bowl, waiting for her rider to comfort her.
Occ/// NOT how i expect that to go.... sorry 'bout that. She took great offence to the not sharing comment. Well that ties up THAT plot. Well mostly. Ion will still hang with I'zon. Sorry.

OOC -- It's quiet alright, Flame. In fact, this helps out a lot. I was wanting I'zon to resign from the Weyrling Master position, because I'm not very active and I think the position should go to someone who is. So this is a great step in that direction. --
As Lilly left the Barracks while trying to coddle her son, I'zon couldn't believe it. Outside, out somewhere in the Weyr, Jareth watched his Green leave and sudden let out an angry roar that seemed to bounce off Bowl and echoed throughout the Weyr. I'zon's heart felt like the same. Yet, he didn't break down, he didn't rage, instead, he drew inward and Jareth found himself cutting off his roar and quickly making his way to the Weyrling Barracks. As the Brown arrived, his snout appeared in the entrance of the Barracks, and sitting on his snout was young red/green firelizard. It was Ky. I'zon quickly took the little male and placed him on his shoulder.
"We need to find Lokin and V'ktor,"
the Brownrider stated, before moving toward his dragon and patting the Brown's snout as he backed out of the Barracks and curled before it, waiting for His to step out. Once I'zon was out of the Barracks, he felt a sudden weight be placed on his shoulders. There were Weyrlings that still needed to be trained and he would need to stay on until at least someone could be found to replace him. "Call them . . . . Please," I'zon whispered, wanting to get this over with as soon as possible. He had been forming this plan for awhile now. Wanting to step down and give another a chance to train the future of the Weyr. All he had wanted to do was open up some time to spend with Ion and Lilly. But now . . . . Now it looked like he would be stepping down to nothing. Sighing, he watched as Jareth lifted his mighty head and called out. Beautiful Queen's, Handsome Leader . . . . Please, Mine wishes to speak with Yours. Could Athenath and Dianath bring the Weyrwoman and Sadrith bring the Weyrleader to the entrance of the Weyrling Barracks? the Brown called, slowly lowering his head once it was down. The Brown wasn't happy about this, the lost of his mate still stung, but he understood why His was stepping down.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Lokin was defiantly pregnant at this point. And when her twins told her that I’zon was hailing her she wanted to strangle something. She forced herself to relax. This had better be good. ”Contact Shannon. If what you say is true, I think she’s going to be stepped up on the totem pole.” She snapped as she headed to the Weyrling Barracks. She was in a red dress and it fluttered slightly as she stepped into the Weyrling Barracks. Her face and voice were schooled to neutrality. ”This had better be quick I’zon. It has not been a good day.” she said softly, her voice not hostile, just… there. She was smaller than him, but that didn’t stop the weyrwoman.
Be careful, Brown Jareth. We don’t do orders. But she’s on her way. Don’t know about mine’s mate. the queen’s voice was a tad sharp. Browns were below her, they should act as so. The gold continued to give her attention to her new children, all of whome were being idiots, including the single bronze.
A blond woman, with bright blue eyes, and a green dragon followed the weyrwoman into the building. Shannon. She smiled a little. ”Hello Weyrwoman, Master I’zon. How can I be of help?”

I'zon couldn't believe how stupid he was. As he watched a very pregnant Lokin walk into the Weyrling Barracks, he quickly moved his chair over to the Senior Weyrwoman, placing it beside her. What he had to say might not take up much time, but that didn't mean that he had to be any more disrespectful to the Weyrwoman. "Please forgive me, Weyrwoman Lokin. I have been most inconsiderate by calling on you when you are so close to your time,"
he stated, lifting his head as he heard Shannon enter and greet him. Now that was a welcomed face. Even though Lilly had appointed the Greenrider Weyrling Second bout the time Lilion was born, I'zon had been grateful to the young woman. "Weyrling Second Shannon!" he stated, looking around and finding no other chair to offer the slightly younger woman. Sighing, he waved to the desk that he himself had leaned on on more than one occasion. ["I fear I don't have another chair to offer you, so I will make this very quick," he stated, hearing his Brown rumble an apology to the Gold twins for over-stepping himself. "Senior Weyrwoman Lokin . . . Weyrling Second Shannon . . . I wish to step down from my title of Weyrling Master . . . I fear I do not deserve it anymore," he stated, hating that his voice broke as he spoke, but Ky crooned to him and the little guy seemed to help him. Jareth was also there, curling around him and offering him strength. His heart may have been broken, but he was surrounded by loved ones.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Lokin’s blue eyes were unforgiving as he spoke. She did not take the chair. She was a tad to annoyed for that, though she did nod, in thanks. She waited for him to speak, glancing at the taller blond, who was giving her superior a rather sad look. But it washed away when he spoke. ”Well, You are the one who was chosen for the post by D’mar, It makes sence that sooner or later you’d step down. Send the papers to Remi, she’ll sign them. Shannon? You’ve just been made Weyrling Master.” oh she’d ask questions later, but for now, she just wanted to get out.
”Now. If you don’t mind, I have other things to do.” said the small blond before walking out. Bad time to piss off the weyrwoman. Shannon chuckled very softly at the little blond. ”Well, I’zon. I’d ask why, but I saw the way Green mirrath took off. Mine agrees that as you are emotionally compromised this was a good idea, but I will miss following your orders. If you need any help, do come ask.” she said softly, watching him carefully. Shannon was a strong woman, always had been, and she had no doubt that her green would be able to catch the weyrlings in whatever they were doing. ”Now, go. I’ll get this place cleaned up. Everything that’s yours will be in your Weyr. Good Luck, I’zon.” she said softly, her blue eyes only a tad worried. He’d get through it. They always did. Heart break only lasted as long as you wanted it to.
