W'tior of Brown Thorth and Brown Zusth
the young Weyrling called, watching his other heart slowly slip into the darkening water of the lake. Have I given you reason to worry? he heard, causing W'tior to simply shake his head and turn his attention away from the smaller of the Brown twins and onto the lighter and larger of the twins. "What have you there, Zusth?" the Weyrling asked, leaning forward a bit. From his seat on a rock, W'tior watched as his smaller Brown, Thorth, wadded out into the lake. "Be careful, Thorth,"
Before him, stretched out, as if he was going to go on and on in length, Zusth turned his silver orbs on His and rumbled in happiness. The larger twin Brown was holding a large object between his claws and was turning the slightly detached pieces with his mind. It was a strange object, but something W'tior had played with as a child. It was a simple puzzle, one that offered hours of entertainment.
Black Harpeth gave this to me the other day, the lighter Brown stated, stopping in his search to finish the puzzle. A series of clicks and pops were letting him know that he was getting close. She suggested I try this since the trainers were busy with more important matters, the Brown stated, causing W'tior to slip from the rock and sit on the ground, leaning back against it, moving so that he had a better view on the item.
"Well . . . How bout we leave that for later and start on soaking you and your brother?" the young Weyrling stated, producing a worn rag that had Zusth's name written all over it. The lighter Brown nearly dropped the toy in his haste to rise and trot over to the lake. By the time he was at the water's edge, W'tior was standing and slowly moving toward the lake; one hand holding a rag, the other balancing two jugs of oil. "Who's first?" he called as he neared the water.
Zusth had already submerged himself, leaving only his snout and silver orbs above the water. Beside him, Thorth had only his snout and golden orbs staring above the water. They both looked like they were going to eat any that dare pass by their lake. "Come now," W'tior stated, setting one jar of oil on the shore and dipping the rag into the other jar. Both Browns looked at each other, before they went under, all the while, W'tior simply shook his head, waiting.
Several moments of silence followed, before finally bubbles formed and then all was silent again. Don't drown yourselves, W'tior sent, before Zusth's head popped up and Thorth's followed. You're first brother! Thorth rumbled, shaking the water from his head and chuckling as Zusth slowly slipped closer to the shore. It was normal for the two brothers to test each other. It had been like that since they had hatched. At least they weren't fighting over which one W'tior would ride during Threadfall . . . . Thank Faranth that time was far off![/blockquote][/blockquote]
